Job TitleAdjunct - Drafting Instructor (Pool)
Job Summary / Basic FunctionAdjunct Instructors are hired part‑time on an as‑needed basis, filled prior to or during each semester based on college needs. Brazosport College accepts application materials for pool positions continuously throughout the year from qualified applicants willing to teach part‑time. Academic departments will contact potential applicants when openings become available.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Reports to the Division Chair of Mechanical and Construction Technologies
- Teaches Drafting classes using traditional and alternative delivery methods

College benefits do not accrue with this part‑time position.
Physical DemandsStanding, sitting, walking, carrying, handling, fine dexterity, vision, hearing, talking; ability to drive to off‑campus locations.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in Drafting or a closely related field (e.g., mechanical or civil engineering) from a regionally accredited institution, or an Associate’s Degree in Drafting Technology with a minimum of three years of non‑teaching wage‑earning experience as a draftsman or designer.
- Demonstrated ability in working with culturally diverse populations.
- Interest in alternative instructional delivery methods.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one’s value to the institution.
- Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration as long as Southern Association (SACS) minimum educational credentials are met.
- Teaching experience at the community college level.
- Applicants must include a minimum of three (3) professional references in the reference section of the application.
- An official transcript documenting the advertised minimum education requirement is required upon hire. If your college/university is not a U.S. awarding institution, you must have your credentials evaluated by a company that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). - For applicants with an Associate’s Degree in Drafting Technology, an Employer Letter(s) of Verification documenting a minimum of three (3) years of non‑teaching wage‑earning experience is required. Multiple letters must be submitted if employment with one employer does not total three (3) years. Letters must be on company letterhead.
