Job Summary/Basic Function:
Adjunct Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity on an as needed basis. These positions are filled prior to or during each semester and are contingent upon the needs of the College.
Brazosport College accepts application materials for pool positions on a continuing basis throughout the year from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis.
Academic departments will contact potential applicants when there are available openings.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Reports to the Division Chair of Mechanical and Construction Technologies
- Teaches Automotive classes using traditional and alternative delivery methods

College benefits do not accrue with this part-time position.
Physical Demands:
Standing, sitting, walking, carrying, handling, fine dexterity, vision, hearing, talking; ability to drive to off campus locations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- This position requires one of the following:
- A Bachelor's degree in Automotive Technology from a regionally accredited college or university or
- An Associate's degree in Automotive Technology, and a minimum of three years of non-teaching wage earning experience in the occupational field or
- An ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification in automotive area and a minimum of five years of non-teaching wage earning experience in the occupational field
- Demonstrated ability in working with culturally diverse populations
- Interest in alternative instructional delivery methods
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one’s value to the institution
- Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration as long as Southern Association (SACS) minimum educational credentials are met
