We are seeking a highly meticulous and experienced Senior Medical Editor to join our team. The Senior Medical Editor ensures scientific accuracy, clinical integrity, regulatory compliance, and editorial quality of all educational materials developed for pharmaceutical clients. You will work closely with Medical Writers, Account Teams, Art Directors, and Regulatory Ops to review content from initiation through final output. This role requires digital editing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Ziflow, and an understanding of medical terminology, therapeutic areas, regulatory guidelines (e.g., FDA, PhRMA), and pharmaceutical marketing best practices.
WhatYou ll Do
- Perform comprehensive edits, proofreads, and quality control checks on a wide range of educational materials, including slide decks edited live in PowerPoint.
- Ensure impeccable grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and adherence to house style guides, client-specific style guides, and the AMA Manual of Style.
- Review for clarity, conciseness, consistency, flow, and appropriate tone/voice for target audiences.
- Fact-check all medical and scientific claims against primary source documents (e.g., clinical trial reports, journal articles, prescribing information, internal data).
- Identify and resolve inconsistencies, ambiguities, or potential misrepresentations in content.
- Verify the accuracy and proper formatting of all references, ensuring claims are linked to source documents.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Medical Writers, Art Directors, Account Managers, Project Managers, and Regulatory Affairs.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment.
- Communicate clearly regarding project status, potential issues, and solutions.
- 5-7+ years of dedicated medical editing experience, with a significant portion gained within a pharmaceutical advertising agency, medical communications agency, or pharmaceutical company.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat (for PDF annotation).

The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. We offer a competitive benefits package; details available on request.
Pay Range: $60,000 — $140,000 USD
