The Tax Accountant is responsible for performing internal sales tax audits to ensure that our projects are paying the correct amount of sales tax. The internal audit process includes attention to application of state tax regulations, sourcing rules, tax base, tax rate, rate caps, exemptions, and other tax rules or sales tax savings opportunities. This role will be required to perform these audits for projects throughout the United States.
This position requires business management acumen and must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as strong communication and client service skills.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience working with state tax codes with the ability to apply them to transactions.
- 3+ years’ experience reviewing invoices for use tax accruals.
- Proven ability to research and rectify complex sales tax issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, 8 years equivalent experience plus minimum 3 years prior relevant experience.
