Role OverviewWe are seeking an M&A (Mergers & Acquisitions) Analyst, a finance professional who supports deals by performing financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, and creating pitch books for buying, selling, or merging companies, working long hours in investment banks or corporate development teams to analyze strategic value and financial impact. They build complex financial models (like DCFs and comparables), assess company fit, and prepare presentation materials for senior bankers and clients, requiring strong analytical, quantitative, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Modeling:
Building complex spreadsheets to forecast future financial performance and determine company value. - Valuation Analysis:
Using methods like Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) and Comparable Company Analysis to find fair prices. - Pitch Book/Presentation Prep:
Creating marketing materials (slides, summaries) for clients and internal teams. - Due Diligence:
Reviewing financial and operational data to assess risks and opportunities. - Industry & Market Research:
Analyzing trends and how companies fit strategically. - Financial Modeling & Valuation:
Build models (DCF, LBO) and perform valuations for potential targets. - Market & Industry Research:
Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and target companies to find strategic opportunities. - Due Diligence:
Gather and analyze financial, operational, and legal data to identify risks and liabilities. - Client Materials:
Prepare pitch books, investment memorandums, and presentations for clients and internal teams. - Deal Execution:
Support the entire transaction cycle, coordinating with legal, tax, and other advisors. - Communication:
Interact professionally with clients, senior bankers, and external parties.
- Strong accounting, finance, and quantitative skills.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Understanding of M&A transaction processes.
