As our Senior Packaging Engineer in Project Hibiscus (or Disentanglement), you will be the lead engineer to help the Essential Home business relocate our internally filled products (St. Peters, MO) to External Manufacturing Operations/EMO. Our brands include Air Wick, Woolite, Resolve, Spray

NWash, Easy Off, Lime-A-Way, D-Con, Rid-X, Glass Plus, Old English and more. The following are expectations of the role; however, it is not limited to these:

• After training on our spec system, (for packaging specs, assembly specs, bills of material, drawings, pallet patterns), our artwork management system, and our project management system, etc, you will be the lead packaging expert for tech transfer of all North American skus (~75 skus).
• Visit existing production site for review of current manufacturing – line tours, tech discussions, spec review, existing quality issues/watch-outs, etc during the visit and interface on-going to apply to new locations as projects unfold
• By applying expert knowledge and these confidential documents, samples, and images, you will understand the package performance requirements to then provide guidance to the EMO project staff to ensure the new location can meet the requirements.
• Review and remediate if necessary and related specs or other documents for any outdated data.
• Collaborate with internal and external team members for comprehensive packaging project management including trial protocols.
• Collaborate with Quality to determine if additional/different Quality control checks on the packaging components or assembly are needed in either the protocol or final production instructions.
• Author/co-author trial reports.
• Secure components for all trials and other evaluations.
• Travel to EMO locations for plant trials to validate and troubleshoot packaging.
• Work with EMO procurement and Supply Chain on EMO capability and collaborate to mitigate any gaps.
• Make recommendations for mitigation or otherwise ensure the product is protected and the package delivers on its form, fit, and function. Apply good design understanding including dimensional interface and tolerances, etc.
• After validation of Tech Transfer at EMO, create or revise BOMs, specs, package assembly instructions, pallet patterns and other related materials to communicate
• requirements and adherence to the new manufacturing including support on the Tech Manual for co-packers for each sku.
