Overview
Job Title:
Electrical Estimator (Low-Voltage/Technologies)
Join a leading construction technologies company as an Estimator, where you will play a critical role in completing takeoffs for multiple projects each week. This position requires a keen understanding of security systems and low voltage systems, and the ability to work independently and interface directly with clients.
Responsibilities- Conduct takeoffs for 3-5 projects weekly, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Utilize Excel and specialized takeoff software to prepare bids and estimates.
- Understand project scope, including piping calculations and estimating piping lengths.
- Collaborate closely with the project coordinator on material orders and purchasing.
- Interface with clients to address discrepancies and ensure clarity in project requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors and other contractors to obtain pricing information.
- Proficiency in low voltage systems and blueprint reading.
- Strong estimation skills using relevant software.
- Experience in construction, particularly in electrical and MEP disciplines.
- Mathematics proficiency for accurate calculations.
- Excellent client interfacing and interpersonal communication skills.
Skills & Qualifications
- Background in construction management is preferred, but not required.
- Experience with commercial projects, both public and private.
- Familiarity with systems like those from Securitas and Schneider Electric.
This role requires working on-site or in the office five days a week. The work involves coordinating with various stakeholders, requiring a professional and presentable appearance as you will be client-facing.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Parsippany, NJ.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50,000.00 - $85,000.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
