Overview

Dewberry is currently seeking a Senior
Environmental/Civil Engineer for our Parsippany, NJ office. The position will perform a variety of environmental engineering tasks in support of navigation channel maintenance dredging operations including beneficial use, coastal restoration, stormwater management, resiliency planning, and environmental permitting in the New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania region. Responsibilities will include: preparation of plans and specifications for dredging, analysis of sediment management options, and hydraulic analysis.

The Senior Environmental/Civil Engineer must be flexible, client focused and capable of working independently, while supporting a team that includes engineers, scientists, and field personnel. The work required is diverse and ranges from coordination of field inspection during construction and soil/groundwater sampling to technical work that requires strong communication skills and knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access and Adobe Acrobat.

Experience with AutoCAD, Microstation and/or ArcGIS, Bentley software products required. Current OSHA 40-hr certification and/or other applicable certification preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Assigns tasks to engineers, scientists, technicians or administrative staff.

  • Assists with proposals to provide professional services.
  • Work with design team across multiple offices and multiple disciplines to generate detailed design documents for construction plans.

Required Skills & Required Experience
  • BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience
  • PE (NJ, NY, PA) is required
  • OSHA 40-hr certification
  • Supports Practice Leads and Management.
  • Meets project, client and regulatory deadlines.
  • Works in a timely fashion to meet project budgets.
