About the team

The Workplace Health and Safety team is dedicated to supporting the Women’s by promoting a safe and healthy work environment for all staff. We deliver comprehensive services across health, safety, and injury management, ensuring compliance with legislation and fostering a culture of wellbeing and continuous improvement.

About the role

As the Workplace Health and Safety Manager, you will provide strategic leadership and expert guidance across WHS and Injury Management. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with legislation, driving continuous improvement, and embedding a strong safety culture throughout the organisation.

A regular day will see you:

  • Developing and implementing health and safety frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Managing relationships with external partners such as Work Safe, Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA), and insurers.
  • Leading and mentoring a small team to deliver high-quality WHS and injury management services.
About you

You are a proactive and collaborative leader with strong communication skills and a passion for creating safe workplaces. You thrive in a dynamic environment, can influence stakeholders at all levels, and bring a solutions-focused approach to complex challenges.

You’ll bring with you:

  • Strong knowledge of WHS issues in acute healthcare and relevant legislation (OHS Act 2004, OHS Regulations 2017).
  • Proven ability to plan, organise, and deliver outcomes aligned with frameworks and KPIs.
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
  • Experience developing and delivering training programs and managing projects within set time frames.
  • High-level data management and reporting skills with strong computer proficiency.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline.

At the Women’s you will enjoy a culture that is collaborative, supportive and passionate about learning. We have a strong sense of purpose, and engage in meaningful work every day. We offer our people a range of rewarding benefits, including:

  • Up to $11,660 in salary packaging benefits, for living expenses, meals and holiday accommodation
  • A suite of wellness initiatives designed to support you, including discounted financial, lifestyle and health options, and a comprehensive wellbeing program

  • Onsite post office, eateries, retail stores and library services
  • Breastfeeding and pumping rooms, and a range of daycare centres nearby
  • Mentoring, learning and career development opportunities
  • Five weeks annual leave, 17.5% leave loading, monthly ADOs and purchased leave options
