About Nutrition and DieteticsOur department provides comprehensive nutrition services to hospital inpatients and outpatients, professional colleagues, and the broader community. Our dietitians have specialist knowledge of nutrition throughout all stages of the life cycle and provide expert care on a range of issues including fertility and pregnancy, neonatal nutrition, weight and eating concerns, diabetes, oncology, pelvic floor and older women’s health.
About the roleThis position is primarily responsible for contributing dietetic advice and medical nutrition therapy within our outpatient service, with additional involvement across inpatient services, student training and research. There will also be opportunity for involvement in a range of departmental projects
A regular week will see you:
- Provide comprehensive nutritional care for women including assessment, planning and implementation, monitoring and follow-up
- Recognize and address the complexities of pelvic pain including co-morbidities such as gut symptoms and disordered eating.
- Attend team meetings for case discussion and advocating for the nutritional care of your patients.
- Deliver a monthly group education session as part of a multidisciplinary introduction to new patients
- Monitor clinical activity and service delivery to ensure the service is in line with evidence-based practice and meets the needs of our patients
- Identify and be involved in quality improvement activities.
You will be someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who enjoys working as part of a supportive, collaborative team committed to excellence in patient care.
You’ll bring with you:
- A Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent tertiary qualification
- Evidence of Accredited Practice Dietitian (APD) status with Dietitians Australia
- A minimum of two years’ clinical experience in a health care setting
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in women’s health, including persistent pelvic pain, associated gut disorders and disordered eating
- A flexible approach to your work with a willingness to go the extra mile when necessary.
