This position provides leadership for the nursing and other professional staff within Patient Care Services to insure consistent, high quality care delivery in a cost effective manner by following the ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance Standards and Management Philosophy of the organization. Has administrative responsibility and authority for the development of ongoing assessment for programs, policies and procedures that define and dictate the provision of patient care.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is requiredGraduate degree in Nursing, Education, Hospital Administration, Business Administration and/or related field is required.Membership in at least one professional organization is required.Current West Virginia nursing license required.Experience
A minimum of seven years of progressive nursing management, knowledge and clinical experience is required.Core Duties and Responsibilities
Serves as a role model for patient care services and other areas of Camden Clark Medical Center.A proven team player and facilitator who derives satisfaction from team successes; an individual known to focus on desirable outcomes while working through complex issues.Fosters a sense of professionalism among the nursing staff to further elevate the standards of the nursing practice.Constantly demonstrates a passionate devotion to excellence and service in dealing with all internal and external customers; works with team to offer the best possible solutions while displaying the best possible values.Acts as a coach and mentor for others. Collaborates to promote a robust employee development and education program that responds to the unique needs of employees across the career continuum (novice to expert). Gives timely feedback and reinforces positive behaviors.Serves as the sponsor and champion for development and implementation of best practices and programs; creates a reputation for getting things done.Serves as a leader in the performance improvement and best practices initiatives, encouraging a “best of the best” mindset and creates a culture that celebrates positive patients and employee relations.Works with the President, Senior Leadership, and the Medical Staff on the strategic planning process by integrating the future trends in nursing care with the healthcare needs of the community. Participates in the development and implementation of the Hospital’s plans for provision of nursing care. Responsible for the successful development and implementation of specifically approved programs within Patient Care Services.Keeps current with changes in public, legislative, and social policies which impact Nursing Services and provides analysis and recommendations to the President on policy positions.Assists with hospital’s building, remodeling and physical expansion programs.Works collaboratively with physicians to assure that standards for excellence in medicine and patient care are met, patients and employees are treated fairly and with respect, and that physician needs are met in a positive and responsive fashion. Establishes effective relationships with the medical staff.Works with the Medical Staff to plan and implement services which meet the community’s health care needs. Actively participates in Medical Staff Committees including Medical Executive Committee, by contributing expertise and providing administrative support and assistance.Ensures effective, efficient and economical patient care outcomes. Lead initiatives to continually assess productivity and throughput to optimize resources.Works cohesively with related team members to develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies that ensure a qualified and stable workforce.Constantly assess staffing options in a creative fashion. Assure strong leadership, accomplished through a positive team approach, resulting in achievement of standards for all service lines, both inpatient and ambulatory.Works closely with other members of Senior Management to devise budgets and support strategic and tactical plans. Facilitates the work of the office of the President in implementing the goals of the strategic plan.…
