Overview
As a Logistics Specialist I, you assist with the preparation of our logistics documentation for spares, tools, test equipment, materials, and related manuals to be deployed and stocked. You ll support routing, documenting, and coordinating shipping logistics, records of equipment, components, repair parts and related manuals, and tracking logistics materials and parts for proper allocation of our storage facilities. You ll learn applicable state, federal, and global regulations and import/export requirements.
Responsibilities- Prepare logistics documentation for spares, tools, test equipment, materials, and related manuals for deployment and stocking.
- Support routing, documenting, and coordinating shipping logistics, records of equipment, components, repair parts, and related manuals.
- Track logistics materials and parts to ensure proper allocation of storage facilities.
- Learn applicable state, federal, and global regulations and import/export requirements.
Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps. Frequently perform repeated hand, arm, and finger motions requiring dexterity. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, depth perception, and color differentiation. Occasional hearing requirements to discern tones and volumes. Frequently lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
Working ConditionsOccasionally exposed to outdoor elements (extreme temperatures, sun, rain/snow). Rarely exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials. Occasionally exposed to loud noises.
Safety Sensitive PositionResponsible for the safety and security of people or property. Inspects, handles or transports explosives, dangerous or hazardous materials. Inspects structures, equipment or vehicles. Performs aviation related duties. Operate or supervise vehicles, heavy or dangerous equipment or machinery.
Requirements- Must-haves: Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills. The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required.
- Preferred: Experience with inventory databases; familiarity with inventory and supply chain/logistics principles; familiarity with AvPro or similar aviation maintenance tracking systems;
Haz Mat training/certification; ability to operate a forklift (certification preferred, not required); experience with shipping databases (e.g., Fed Ex, DHL, UPS); understanding of shelf life; background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military. - Education: High school diploma or GED; a higher level degree may substitute for experience; related experience may be considered in lieu of required education; ability to pass a DOT Physical and provide an MVR.
