SummaryThe Head Swim coach will lead the Pinery Wave runners Swim Team. They will be responsible for designing training programs, providing instruction, and offering guidance and motivation to swimmers of all ages and skill levels.
Duties and Responsibilities- Instructs and monitors various physical activities, provides personal attention to swim team members' needs, and ensures the safety of all swim team members and their families.
- Evaluate swimmers’ skills and abilities to determine appropriate training plans
- Develop and implement training programs that improve swimmers’ technique, endurance, speed, and agility
- Provide feedback and instruction to swimmers to help them improve their performance
- Monitor swimmers during training sessions and competitions to ensure safety and adherence to rules
- Teach various swimming styles, such as freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, and breaststroke
- Prepare swimmers for competitions by teaching strategies and providing motivational support
- Communicate with parents or guardians about swimmers’ progress, expectations, and any relevant issues
- Ensure the pool area is safe and clean, adhering to all safety regulations and standards
- Keep up to date with the latest coaching techniques, swimming research, and regulations
- Act as a liaison between the club and the Swim League to schedule home and away swim team meets.
- Manage and develop the Pinery Wave runner swim team and programs.
- Ensure a pleasant environment for all swim team members and families.
- Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of equipment and the facility.
- Maintain effective member relations.
- Stay updated on the latest developments pertinent to the swim industry and the Pinery Swim Team.
- Collaborate with other departments within the club as needed.
- May teach group classes to members.
- May teach one-on-one private sessions.
- Other duties related to the swim team as delegated by management.

Education and/or ExperienceApplicants must hold a current Instructor certification and a current CPR/AED card. Current required local and/or state professional certifications and/or license; high school diploma, general education degree (GED), or be able to obtain a work permit; proven instructor skills; and demonstrated outstanding customer service. Must possess willingness to learn and perform new fitness programs, excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, drive and motivation.
Flexibility with schedule with evenings and weekend work required.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and interpret retail product labeling. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
