As a member of Communications Section
, you’ll be at the heart of operations, providing 24‑hour emergency services to residents in Parker and Lone Tree
. Your work will directly impact the safety and well‑being of the community. Often referred to as the “True First Responders,” the communications technicians play a pivotal role in coordinating responses to both emergencies and non‑emergencies, ensuring the efficient flow of information to officers and residents alike.

What You’ll Do:
  • Provide vital 24‑hour emergency services for Parker and Lone Tree residents.
  • Handle a wide variety of calls for service, including emergency and non‑emergency incidents.
  • Use multi‑tasking skills to manage up to ten computer screens while answering incoming phone calls and communicating over the radio simultaneously.
  • Process approximately 9,700 calls for service per month as a team, working alongside various local and regional agencies to coordinate responses.
  • Serve as the first point of contact in critical situations, ensuring that information is efficiently relayed and first responders are dispatched.

  • Answers emergent and non‑emergent phone calls.
  • Assesses the nature of incoming phone calls and dispatches appropriate police and other emergency services to the scene of an incident.
  • Utilizes radios to communicate with law enforcement personnel.
  • Documents incident details quickly and accurately to establish incident urgency, categorizing the incident type, and obtaining the proper help for the caller.
  • Interprets caller location by using geographic knowledge, tools, and location tracking capabilities when available.
  • Processes checks for wanted persons, vehicle license plates, registration, driver’s license validity and criminal history as requested by field units.
