Position: Logistics Technician - Receiving

Location: Lutheran General hospital;
Park Ridge, IL.

Registry/PRN status: scheduled on-call, as needed, to help fill in for departmental gaps and needs.

Hours:

As Needed For Following Shifts — 6am-2:30pm, or 2pm-10:30pm, and possibly 10pm-6:30am.

• 2-Bin Inventory Management: maintain all assigned 2-Bin inventory locations, ensure proper bin placement, keep the room organized, adhere to the 2-Bin standard, avoid incorrect bin use, prevent bin removal from the room, and maintain a clean floor under inventory racks.
• Inventory Replenishment: pick and pull all regularly scheduled inventory to replenish all assigned locations with 100% accuracy; deliver 2-Bin replenishment orders to the appropriate location; restock 2-Bins and perform an inventory cycle count to ensure accuracy.
• Product Freshness: check for expired products, replace with appropriate product, and adjust inventory counts via cycle counts.
• Order Processing: perform supplement restocks as requested; pick up empty bins and returns, return product to General Stores with proper paperwork and signature for credit.
• Inventory Tracking: perform monthly 2-Bin inventory of designated locations; understand and use Demand Track to assess velocity and usage and make PAR adjustment recommendations to the Supply Chain leader.
• Automation and Custody: use receiving and distribution chain-of-custody automation for documenting incoming shipments and outgoing General Stores issues; use automation for all General Stores product handling as assigned by supervisor.
• General Stores Maintenance & Inventory Management: gather/rem/ dispose debris, rotate inventory with FEFO, register expired product per Non-Compliant Policy; manage valuation, cycle counts, and related metrics; maintain housekeeping and proper disposal per approvals; document trends and maintain cleanliness per standards.
• Housekeeping & Compliance: uphold high housekeeping standards in General Stores, dispose of waste properly, and maintain a clean, safe workspace.
• Cycle Counts & Performance: conduct regular cycle counts; target cycle count error rate of 5% or less; analyze root causes and implement corrective actions; carry pager/portable to respond to requests and protect equipment.
• Inventory Trend Reporting: maintain a monthly inventory valuation trend chart on the General Stores Quality Board, linked to your name and inventory location; strive for inventory reduction targets aligned with leadership goals.

• Perform receiving functions for all incoming orders (bulk or unit of measure related).
• Review incoming orders for accuracy and alignment with PO and ship-to location.
• Identify quality issues and liaise with customer service representatives associated with third-party shippers.
• Use scanning technology and standard processes for receiving; maintain a clean work environment daily and manage tools/space as required.
• Deliver inbound product with analysis and problem-solving for items not properly identified with correct ship-to/requisition location.
• Disinfect patient care equipment per Infection Control policies.
• Perform other related duties as required.

• Inventory management and accurate pick process for requisitioned items; maintain no more than five days on hand per SKU unless otherwise approved.
• Pick and deliver requisitioned orders; use bar code scanning to capture signatures and delivery/receipt confirmation.
• Review green-bin non-compliant product weekly (or as assigned); transport to General Stores and log in the online database; return General Stores equipment used for distribution.
• Coordinate product returns from requisitioning locations back to General Stores.

• Minimum picking rate of 60 lines per hour, with a target of 100 lines per hour; include replenishment time in lines-per-hour calculation.
• Ensure accuracy of inventory picks; track cycle count errors and develop corrective actions; chart trend of cycle count errors by location for quarterly review.
