• Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy.
• Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
• Comply with all food safety and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
• Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions about products.
• Follow all applicable laws and company policies.
• Work effectively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts cooperatively and professionally.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
• Support and assist diverse customer groups including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
