Where You Will Work- 16‑bed Neuro Critical Care Unit providing specialized nursing care for neuro‑surgical and medical critical‑care patients.
- Diagnoses include ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes (s/p TPA, clot retrieval), aneurysm coiling, spine patients, brain tumors/craniotomies, seizures.
- Unit designed for nurses who want to specialize in neuroscience/stroke healing.
- Neuro ICU has a dedicated Neuro Intensivist and 24/7 telemonitoring support.
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state of Illinois.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association and ACLS.
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in Critical Care or neuro unit (or 1‑year surgical telemetry or neuro unit).
- Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Use evidence‑based practice, clinical decision making, and compassionate communication to create the safest patient environment and best patient experience across the continuum.
