The Maintenance Technician role aids in ensuring the functioning of building systems including the fire/life safety, HVAC, lighting, mechanical and plumbing systems in all the parish facilities. The Maintenance Technician is also responsible for ensuring the grounds are kept in a safe and clean condition. This would include overseeing the maintenance of sidewalks and parking areas, light snow removal and performing repairs to the buildings and equipment as required, utilizing basic knowledge in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, masonry and painting work.

• Ensure the optimal functioning of building systems including fire/life safety, HVAC, mechanical and plumbing.
• Perform maintenance service and small repairs in the areas of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, masonry and painting.
• Ensure parish machinery is well maintained and that maintenance procedures and schedules are followed.
• Report to Director of Operations, pastor and if necessary to the local police instances that are the results of damage or vandalism to the parish grounds or buildings.
• Oversee/supervise the work of outside contractors who perform routine preventative maintenance activities such as safety inspections, pest control or other preventative maintenance on the facility systems and grounds.
• Replace batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors as well as replace light bulbs when necessary.
• Support snow removal as needed to ensure safe conditions for the parishioners, school and parish personnel as well as campus visitors.
• Support the set up and take down for parish and school activities.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

This position has an annualized salary range of $30.00 - $40.00. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on many factors including but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
