Overview
Position: Logistics Technician
Location: Lutheran General hospital;
Park Ridge, IL
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm; rotating weekends
Major Responsibilities- 2-Bin Inventory Management: maintain all assigned 2-Bin inventory locations, keep rooms organized, adhere to 2-Bin standards, ensure correct bin placement, prevent bin removal from rooms, and keep floors and racks clear of debris.
- Inventory replenishment: pick and pull regularly scheduled inventory to replenish all assigned locations at 100% accuracy; deliver replenishment orders to the appropriate 2-bin inventory location; restock 2-Bins and perform cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
- Expired product handling: check for expired product, replace with appropriate product, and adjust inventory counts via cycle counts.
- Restock requests: perform supplement restocks when requested.
- Returns and staging: collect empty bins and product returns, return to General Stores, stage with appropriate paperwork and signatures for credit.
- Inventory cadence: perform monthly 2-Bin inventory in designated locations or as assigned.
- Demand Track usage: understand and use Demand Track regularly to assess inventory velocity and usage; make PAR adjustment recommendations to the Supply Chain leader.
- Receiving and chain of custody automation: use automation for cycle counts and document chain of custody for incoming shipments and General Stores issues to point-of-care locations; follow defined processes.
- General Stores automation: use automation for picking, issuing, delivering, crediting, and administering General Stores products, including crash carts and inventory carts as applicable.
- Maintenance and housekeeping: gather and remove debris, rotate inventory (FEFO), register expired products per Non-Conforming Policy, maintain clean and orderly General Stores spaces, and ensure proper disposal of unused items with approvals as needed.
- Cycle counts and accuracy: perform regular cycle counts, aim for cycle count error rate of 5% or less, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions; chart and display cycle count trends.
- Equipment and communications: carry pager/portable phone; protect from loss or damage; maintain trend charts on the General Stores Quality Board; work toward inventory reduction targets.
- Receiving: perform receiving for all orders, verify accuracy to POs and ship-to locations, identify quality issues, and use scanning technology; maintain clean work environment and perform housekeeping as needed; inspect and disinfect patient care equipment per Infection Control policies; perform other duties as required.
- Distribution and Picking: manage inventory and accurate pick processes; maintain no more than five days on hand per SKU unless approved; pick and deliver orders using barcode scanning; review non-compliant product in green bins and log accordingly; return equipment used for Distribution; coordinate product returns; meet picking benchmarks (min 60 lines/hour, target 100 lines/hour); ensure accuracy and perform action to reduce cycle count errors;
use designated picking automation and velocity picking format; release picked orders using Lawson WH32.2 and sign paperwork. - Non-Conforming Policy: analyze non-conforming incident rates by SKU; recommend process improvements; maintain non-conforming green bins, placards, and job aids; rotate stock FEFO and remove non-conforming product; log non-conforming items weekly; communicate trends to clinical leadership for assigned locations.
Education/
Experience:
High School diploma; 12 months experience preferred in stocking and/or receiving; experience with mainframe or PC systems.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong communication and customer relations; good organization and math skills; computer literate; team player; ability to prioritize and adapt to change; strong critical thinking.
Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For lifts over 35 pounds, use lifting equipment or lift with at least one other associate when available. Specific situations evaluated case-by-case.
