Duties
It is expected that the candidate will present a record of successful experiences that indicate outstanding instructional leadership, collaboration, and performance in the following areas:
Including but not limited to:
Curriculum Development, Coordination, and Evaluation
* Lead the development, coordination, maintenance, and evaluation of curriculum in our multilingual courses across the district, ensuring alignment with district standards and state requirements.
* Collaborate with department chairs, directors and instructional leaders to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment of curriculum that best meets the needs of multilingual learners across all academic departments and programs.
* Collaborate with partner districts to align program goals and outcomes.
* Coordinate the intersection of information systems, curriculum, and instruction to ensure data effectively supports program evaluation and instructional decision-making.
Instructional Leadership and Evaluation
* Support the evaluation and professional growth of department chairs in partnership with building principals.
* Participate in the evaluation of certified staff, with an emphasis on instructional quality and student engagement.
Professional Learning and Staff Development
* Design and deliver professional learning opportunities aligned with the district's instructional framework and improvement goals.
* Collaborate with the Director and Assistant Directors for Curriculum and Instruction to provide targeted support for teachers and leaders in implementing equitable and high-impact instructional practices that support multilingual learners.
Multilingual Instructional Leadership
* Oversee the district's Multilingual Learner (ML) programs, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements (Part 228 and Title III).
* Collaborate with ML lead teachers and building leaders to design and monitor instructional programming for English Learners (ELs) and Dual Language students.
* Observe and evaluate ML staff district-wide.
* Lead the evaluation and continuous improvement of ML curriculum, assessment, and instructional strategies aligned to WIDA standards and district goals.
* Facilitate professional learning and coaching for teachers serving multilingual students, including sheltered instruction, co-teaching models, and language development strategies.
* Monitor student progress toward English language proficiency and collaborate with staff to design interventions and supports.
* Partner with the Director of Student Services, Family Engagement staff, and community liaisons to strengthen family-school communication and support multilingual families.
* Coordinate annual EL identification, placement, and program exit processes in collaboration with district and school-based teams.
* Stay informed about current research, regulations, and best practices related to multilingual and culturally responsive education.
Instructional Framework and Continuous Improvement
* Collaborate with district and building leadership to evaluate and refine the instructional framework.
* Support district initiatives related to assessment, grading, and instructional innovation.
Other duties and responsibilities as determined by the Administration and/or Board of Education.
Qualifications
* Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a General Administrative or Principal endorsement required.
* Master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a closely related field required.
* Administrative (Type 75) certificate or Teacher Leader endorsement and completion of the Illinois Performance Evaluation - Growth Through Learning modules.
* Bilingual or ESL endorsement required.
* Demonstrated expertise in curriculum leadership, instructional design, and/or multilingual programming.
Salary/Benefits
* 12-month position
* 260 Total Paid Work Days

July 1, 2026

June 30, 2027
* Competitive Benefits
* The base salary shall range from $145,000 to $175,000 (this amount does not reflect the Board-paid TRS).
