Job Description
- Familiarize themselves ahead of time with the administration and exam security procedures in the AP Coordinator's Manual, Part 2.
- Read all the general and the appropriate subject-specific exam administration instructions in the Exam Instructions book to understand the flow of the administration.
- Learn how to use Test Day Tool Kit for facilitating digital and hybrid AP test administration.
- Admit and assign seats to students.
- Check identification of homeschooled students and/or students from other schools.
- Bring all necessary materials to the exam room.
- Count and check the exams received for the exam administration upon arrival in the exam room.
- Confirm the exam title of each AP Exam to be sure that no other exams are included.
- Ensure each student has their correct personalized AP sheet.
- Distribute exam materials.
- Read the General Instructions and the instructions for the exam being administered.
- Ensure students properly complete the identification information on the front of their answer sheets.
- Supervise the testing room and walk around the room to ensure students are working on the correct exam section.
- Keep the room and exam materials attended at all times.
- Collect and account for all exam materials before dismissal.
- Dismiss students, making sure they do not take any exam materials from the exam room.
- Return all exam materials to secure storage or wait for the AP coordinator to collect the exam materials from the exam site. (Proctors should follow the post-exam instructions provided by the AP coordinator.)
May 2026 and a paid training session
Hours7:30 a.m.
- approximately 12:30 p.m. for morning exams (varies by length and applicable accommodations)
11:30 a.m.
- approximately 3:00 p.m. for afternoon exams (varies by length and applicable accommodations)
Proctors will be limited to one test a day
Exams are anywhere from 2-4 hours in length, potentially more if there are accommodations.
Hourly Rate Is As FollowsExams: $35/hr
- Exams are about 4 hours.
- AM and PM shifts are available each day.
- Schools will ask for proctor availability once onboarded.
