Compensation: $22.00 - $24.00/hour (based on experience)

Position Summary
The Child Welfare Services (CWS) Worker plays a key role within the CWS Referral Program, supporting child safety, family stability, and long-term well-being. This position focuses on prevention and early intervention by working directly with families in their homes and connecting them to appropriate community resources. Through assessment, outreach, and solution-focused support, the CWS Worker helps reduce risk factors and promote healthy family functioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct weekly in-home visits to assess child safety, risk factors, and family needs
- Apply critical thinking and a solution-focused approach to address family challenges
- Provide referrals and connect families to community-based resources, including:
- Parenting education and support services
- Short-term in-home assistance
- Medical and behavioral health care
- Other tailored supports based on family needs
- Promote protective factors and reinforce family strengths to reduce risk
- Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with internal teams and community partners
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related Human Services field (preferred)
- High School Diploma or equivalent will be considered with relevant professional experience
- Alternative degrees and non-traditional career paths welcomed with demonstrated experience working with children, families, or at-risk populations
- 1-2 years of experience working with children, families, or high-need populations preferred
- Experience with trauma-informed work, mental health, substance use, or domestic violence a plus
- Familiarity with community resources and service networks preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case documentation systems
- Openness to reflective practice and supporting multi-stressed families
- Valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and current auto insurance
- Clean driving record
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Hourly rate of $22.00 - $24.00, based on experience
