About Park City Soccer Club (PCSC)
Park City Soccer Club (PCSC) is a community-based nonprofit organization serving youth and families throughout Summit County, Utah. Our mission is to support the holistic development of young athletes through soccer by emphasizing skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a lifelong love of the game. PCSC serves more than 500 players annually across a broad range of ages and abilities, providing developmentally appropriate programs, competitive opportunities, and a welcoming, inclusive club environment.
PositionSummary
The Club Director provides leadership, direction, and oversight of Park City Soccer Club’s soccer and organizational operations in support of the Club’s mission:
Committed to meeting a broad range of athlete goals in development, performance, and time allocation through high-quality coaching and aligned expectations.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Director works collaboratively with coaches, staff, volunteers, families, and community partners to ensure a positive, mission-driven experience for all participants.
Key Responsibilities I. Leadership, Mission, and Club Culture- Provide day-to-day leadership and long‑term vision for PCSC programs and operations
- Uphold and advance the Club’s mission, values, and commitment to positive youth development
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful club culture for players, families, coaches, and volunteers
- Partner with the Board of Directors to support strategic planning and responsible organizational growth
- Serve as a visible and approachable leader within the Club community
- Gather and assess participant feedback to guide continuous improvement
- Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors to strengthen organizational systems and structure
- Support nonprofit best practices related to governance, policies, and compliance
- Attend and participate in Board meetings, providing regular updates and reports
- Recruit, hire, assign, and support licensed coaching staff (typically 20–30 coaches annually)
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to coaches
- Promote positive coaching practices aligned with best practices
- Support coach education through internal training and approved external opportunities, as resources allow
- Facilitate regular communication and collaboration among coaching staff
* The Director may coach one team per season, as needed.
IV. Player Development and Curriculum- Implement and oversee a developmentally appropriate, club‑wide curriculum with age‑specific benchmarks
- Ensure consistent curriculum application across teams and age groups
- Develop resources to help families and players understand development pathways and expectations
- Introduce programs and partnerships that enrich player development and expand opportunities
- Support players and families in exploring opportunities beyond the Club, including State Select, tournaments, and college pathways
- Oversee a fair, consistent, and clearly communicated biannual player evaluation process
- Ensure evaluations support individual growth and positive player experiences
- Design and oversee an inclusive, transparent tryout process aligned with Club values
- Coordinate with the Registrar on communication, scheduling, logistics, and team formation
- Assume responsibility for final player placement and coaching assignments
- Communicate clearly with families to manage expectations and ensure understanding
- Serve as PCSC’s primary liaison with the Utah Youth Soccer Association (UYSA)
- Ensure compliance with UYSA requirements and deadlines
- Represent PCSC at alignment meetings and the UYSA Annual General Meeting
- Advocate for appropriate competitive placement and development opportunities for PCSC players
- Coordinate field and facility use with local partners and municipalities
- Oversee the Club’s year‑round training and event schedule
