Frontend Software Engineer; Full Stack, Prototyping & Agentic Development

We're a small, fast-moving team. Engineers at Bioscope build quickly, iterate often, and use working software to explore where the product should go next.

We're hiring a full-stack software engineer with a frontend bias to help us rapidly prototype new product ideas.

This role exists to turn early, sometimes ambiguous concepts into end-to-end prototypes that the team can evaluate and iterate on. Prototypes are built to learn and explore, and are primarily used for internal validation and direction-setting.

You'll work across the stack, with an emphasis on building user-facing experiences, and contribute backend functionality as needed to support those prototypes. You'll collaborate closely with product and leadership
, executing on direction and helping explore how new AI-enabled capabilities could show up in the product.

A core expectation of this role is agentic development
: using modern AI-assisted workflows to move faster, explore more ideas, and unlock product possibilities that wouldn't be practical otherwise.

This role is based in Salt Lake City, UT
, with a hybrid in‑office schedule.

• Build end-to-end prototypes to explore new product ideas and workflows
• Develop user-facing interfaces using modern frontend tools and frameworks
• Contribute backend features and APIs as needed to support prototypes
• Use agentic coding workflows to generate, adapt, and iterate on code quickly
• Collaborate with product and leadership to validate ideas through working software
• Make pragmatic tradeoffs to maximize learning and iteration speed
• Take features from vague concept to demo-ready prototype

• Experience working as a full-stack engineer with a strong frontend focus
• Strong proficiency with modern JavaScript/Type Script and React
• Comfort contributing backend code (e.g., Python) when needed
• Hands‑on experience with agentic or AI-assisted development workflows
• Ability to move quickly in ambiguous problem spaces
• Preference for shipping and iterating over perfecting

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS
• Familiarity with serverless or cloud-native architectures
• Experience building data-rich or AI-powered user interfaces
• Exposure to automated testing tools or lightweight test strategies

• Work at the edge of AI-enabled product development
• Build and iterate on ideas quickly without heavy process
• Influence product direction through working prototypes
• High ownership and close collaboration with a small team
