Sales Associate

Job Description

The Sales Associate role is crucial to the store’s success and efficiency. You will uphold Coach’s Service and Selling Models, create a positive first impression, build ongoing customer relationships through a personalized experience, and leave a lasting, positive impact.

Sales Floor Responsibilities
  • Understand organizational objectives and make decisions aligned with company priorities.
  • Takes ownership and commits to delivering results while monitoring personal and store metrics.
  • Create short‑ and long‑term strategies to achieve personal metrics and performance goals.
  • Take ownership of personal survey results and develop plans for improvement.
  • Represent Coach as a brand ambassador and demonstrate Coach’s Selling and Service expectations at all times.
  • Stay aware of local market changes and support execution of local sales strategies.
  • Drive business through sales strategies, clienteling, sourcing new customers, and maintaining ongoing productive relationships.
  • Build credibility and trust as a personal fashion advisor with strong product knowledge.
  • Provide in‑depth product knowledge, including features, benefits, and current offers.
  • Communicate current pricing and promotional strategies to customers.
  • Leverage cross‑selling skills to build sales and encourage beneficial add‑ons.
  • Remain sensitive to customer needs and tailor approaches accordingly.
  • Attend to each customer’s unique shopping needs while managing multiple tasks.
  • Follow up consistently with customers to influence and close sales.
  • Flex personal selling techniques to contribute to store financial results.
  • Build lasting and loyal customer relationships.
  • Leverage Coach’s tools and technology to support relationship building and clienteling efforts.
  • Create enthusiasm and positivity for a shared vision and mission.
  • Promote and endorse a team‑selling environment.
  • Foster teamwork, trust, and collaboration with internal and external customers.
  • Remain solution‑oriented and adaptable to changing business and store needs.
  • Welcome feedback and adapt behaviors as appropriate.
  • Maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times.
Operations Responsibilities
  • Ensure all daily tasks are completed without impacting service or Coach standards.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and visual merchandising to Coach standards.
  • Adhere to all applicable retail policies and procedures, including POS, Operations, and Asset Protection.
  • Replenish inventory on the sales floor as needed.
  • Support the Store Inventory Process by processing shipments and stocking shelves.
  • Assist in cash‑wrap operations when required.
  • Process all customer transactions efficiently.
  • Organize functional areas and perform routine cleaning to maintain visual merchandising standards.

Additional Requirements
  • 1–3 years of previous sales experience, preferably in a luxury retail environment.
  • Knowledge of fashion trends and competition.
Education

High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.

Technical

Knowledge of cash register systems, basic computer skills (iPad/laptop, Mobile POS, Internet), walkie‑talkie usage, and reading price/product release sheets.
