Health Club Attendant; Part Time

Overview

Hyatt Vancouver Downtown Alberni is seeking a dedicated, passionate, and customer service-oriented Health Club Attendant to join our team on a part-time basis. The role supports the Health Club, Ginger Juice Bar, Locker Rooms and related areas, delivering excellent guest experiences.

Hourly wage is at $26.64 per hour.

• Responsible for maintaining the Health Club, Ginger Juice Bar, Locker Rooms and back-of-house areas.
• Perform opening and closing duties of the Health Club, Pool and Ginger Juice Bar, per hotel policies.
• Interact with guests and residents, answering questions regarding our fitness facilities, Orrin Spa or the hotel.
• Regular tasks include: preparing headphones, folding towels, stocking cabanas and pool areas, organizing and disinfecting gym equipment, and ensuring the general cleanliness of the Health Club and Ginger Juice Bar areas.
• Ensure the Health Club and Locker Rooms are clean, organized and fully stocked with towels, literature and amenities.
• Monitor the Ginger Juice Bar, preparing beverages, maintaining inventory, general cleaning and service of food/beverage both poolside and within the Ginger Juice Bar.
• Prepare and make coffee and smoothies as needed.
• Enter food & beverage orders in the hotel’s POS System, process payments and deliver food & beverage orders.
• Replenish reception and fitness facility amenities including: water station, cool towels, magazines and fresh fruit, while following all safety and sanitation policies.
• Ensure the Health Club area is clean and well-maintained and well-presented with amenities displayed to hotel standards.
• Ensure that any guest feedback or facility deficiencies are communicated to management in a timely fashion.
• Answer telephone and in-person inquiries.
• Take ownership for learning and following Health Club policies and procedures.
• Undertake other ad hoc work-related responsibilities as required.

• Minimum 2 years previous work experience in Housekeeping or Spa Attendant is preferred.
• Flexibility in schedule and availability on weekends & holidays is essential. Availability on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday an asset.
• Valid Serving It Right and Food Safe Level 1 certification are required.
• Previous experience in luxury hotels or spas is preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of general cleaning and sanitization protocol is required.
• Demonstrated understanding for luxury hotel standards of service is required.
• Visa Requirements:
  Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
