SummaryThe Laundry Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of laundry operations, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with hotel policies and OSHA regulations.
Essential Functions- Supervise, select, train, coach, and counsel staff.
- Maintain hotel policies and procedures.
- Schedule staff in accordance with occupancy demands.
- Manage the administrative functions of the laundry department.
- Process paperwork accurately and timely; conduct and oversee inventory of linen, supplies, and uniforms.
- Ensure quality of received and produced linens; ensure equipment is in good working order.
- Report malfunctioning equipment immediately and coordinate repairs with Engineering.
- Hold regular department meetings to discuss safety, hotel events, retraining, and guest/occupancy updates.
- Report service discrepancies to the appropriate manager or supervisor.
- Report safety or security discrepancies to the appropriate manager or supervisor.
- Work varying schedules to reflect the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to work in extreme temperatures like laundry rooms (+110°F) for an hour or more, stand for up to 4 hours, lift up to 40 lbs regularly, and push or pull carts/equipment weighing up to 250 lbs regularly.
