Position SummaryTelos Classical Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Grammar School Teacher (K-2) to join our faculty. The ideal candidate loves young learners, delights in classical education, and is committed to nurturing both the minds and hearts of students. Grammar School Teachers lay the essential foundation for lifelong learning by fostering wonder, cultivating habits of attention, and guiding students toward mastery of core subjects.
Primary Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging instruction in core grammar school subjects (including reading, writing, mathematics, history, science, and Bible as assigned).
- Integrate a biblical worldview throughout all subjects.
- Cultivate a classroom culture marked by joy, order, and mutual respect.
- Employ classical teaching methods appropriate to the grammar stage (memorization, recitation, narration, and foundational skill-building).
- Assess student progress and communicate regularly with parents.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to school policies and procedures.
- Support the mission and vision of Telos Classical Academy in all aspects of school life.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Commitment to the Christian faith and agreement with the school’s statement of faith.
- Understanding of or willingness to learn classical Christian pedagogy.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous grammar school teaching experience.
- Experience in classical or Christian education.
- A love for young children and a joyful, patient spirit.
- A lifelong learner who values intellectual and spiritual growth.
- Strong moral character and professional integrity.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues and partner effectively with parents.
- Enthusiasm for shaping students’ affections as well as intellect.
