Overview
The Delivery Specialist will maintain and operate store vehicles to deliver parts and/or products to professional customers in a safe and efficient manner. This position will also collect money on COD deliveries and pick up customer returns. Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities- Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers in a safe and efficient manner.
- Use delivery fleet management handheld devices to process deliveries, capture customer signatures, update vehicle mileage, and complete daily vehicle inspections.
- Keep vehicles clean and maintained; perform daily vehicle inspections prior to operation.
- Keep delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet cards, handheld devices, and monies collected secure at all times.
- Pickup customer returns (new, warranty, cores, etc.) and complete driver return slips.
- Communicate customer issues or special needs to store management.
- Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or damages to the store manager immediately.
- Ensure the fuel tank is filled and the vehicle is locked and secured at the end of the workday.
- Clock in/out according to company policy.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including customer service, stocking, merchandising, running errands, handling core returns, and checking in/putting up stock orders.
- May occasionally assist customers as a cashier and help with merchandising tasks when business dictates.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Required:
Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences. - Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing delivery situations.
- Driving record must meet the standard set in the company's 14/18-point system.
- Must possess a legally required state driver's license and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
- Familiar with automotive parts.
- Ability to operate other light store equipment.
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
