Material Handler- Extrusion 2nd Shift

Overview

Responsible for movement of raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the facility using a forklift truck. May also utilize cranes, hoists, hand trucks, and other moving equipment to meet job requirements. Performs work under direct supervision. Handles basic issues and problems.

• Accurately remove and stock product, customer’s product, and various supplies according to inventory plan.
• Accurately select product to fill customer orders and package them properly.
• Load and unload trucks and verify that correct items are loaded and unloaded.
• Pick, process and pack orders; may be required to cut orders on Kaltenbach saw.
• Complete cycle counts.
• Identify, hold and segregate defective material.
• Complete paperwork per work instructions when required.
• Perform general clean up.
• Inspect forklift at the beginning of every shift; report issues to the immediate supervisor or designated personnel.
• Participate in and comply with all health, safety, ISO and 6S initiatives and requirements.
• Assist in other duties to support the operation as requested by supervisor or team lead.
• This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma/GED
• Ability to read and write English (in Quebec, read and write French)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. for 100 feet
• Ability to perform basic math skills
• Previous forklift experience
• Must be able to sit for long periods and perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching and grasping motions
• Safety Mindset
