Overview
PRN A Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant provides coordinated occupational therapy to patients of all age groups under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist. Participates in the coordination of care.
Responsibilities – Occupational Therapist (OT) Role- Provides services that are ordered by the physician as indicated in the plan of care, as developed, delegated, and supervised by the Occupational Therapist (OT). Completes appropriate documentation in a timely manner.
- Facilitates patients’ ROM, strength, coordination, use of adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, functional mobility, and safety issues as related to patients’ ADL performance under the supervision of the OT.
- Applies concepts of infection control and standard precautions in coordinating and performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease.
- Accepts clinical assignments that are consistent with education and competence to care for patients.
- Uses effective interpersonal relations and communication skills to provide patient and caregiver education.
- Promotes compliance with all fiscal intermediary and/or other third-party payors, through education, coaching, and other assistance, as necessary.

- Graduate of an accredited program of occupational therapist assistant with an Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Active, state license as an occupational therapist assistant.
- Current driver’s license.
- One year of experience as an occupational therapist assistant, preferred.
- Therapy skills as set forth in the Therapy Practice Act and other regulatory agencies.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Proof of current CPR certification.
- Reliable transportation and valid auto liability insurance.
