Overview

This position will be either a level 1, 2 or Sr based on candidate experience. Texas Oncology is looking for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team at the Paris location. This full-time role supports a busy integrated oncology practice. Texas Oncology is the largest community oncology provider in the country with 600+ providers in 220+ sites across Texas and southeastern Oklahoma.

Responsibilities
  • Direct care and management in the outpatient/inpatient/surgical setting, including documentation of visits, patient and family education, ordering and reviewing diagnostic studies, prescribing medications, management of symptoms, counseling and support, referrals to other providers, and staff/community education.
  • Interdependent practice with collaborative physician(s) and team.
  • Proficient use of Electronic Health Records and complete documentation per Texas Oncology policy and guidelines.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships across the organization and the local medical community.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as appropriate.
  • Participate in tumor board, institutional trainings, and meetings as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience.

  • Nurse Practitioner
    • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
    • Level 1: entry-level (0-3 years);
      Level 2: 3 years;
      Level Sr: 6 years.
    • RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing; current Nurse Practitioner license in practicing state; current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Physician Assistant
    • Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program; current NCCPA certification.
    • Level 1: entry-level (0-3 years);
      Level 2: 3 years;
      Level Sr: 6 years.
    • Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state; current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Clinical Nurse Specialist
    • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program.
    • Level 1: 0-3 years;
      Level 2: 3 years;
      Level Sr: 6 years.
    • RN state licensure and current registration; current Clinical Nurse Specialist license in practicing state; current BLS/CPR certification.
Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
