Assistant Mechanic

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required. General aptitude for mechanics with a desire to learn.

REPORTS TO: Head Mechanic

SUPERVISES: Not Applicable

JOB GOAL: To provide the work necessary to keep the District's vehicles and equipment in proper operating condition to prevent problems or interruptions to the educational program.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Assistant Mechanic will assume duties of Head Mechanic in his/her absences.

Able to pass CDL with (P) endorsement.

Degree from a 2 year Diesel Mechanic School or 2 year working experience as a Diesel Mechanic or equivalent work experience.

Keep a clean and safe work environment.

Able to trouble shoot multi-plex wiring systems ECM system, injector and fuel pumps.

Will perform all duties assigned by the Head Mechanic or Superintendent.

Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Working hours when school is in session 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m..

Hours of employment when school is not in session 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m..

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
