The Meat Manager ensures the store’s meat department operates at the standards set by the company, driving sales and maximizing profitability. The Meat Manager delivers the highest level of customer service and satisfaction by following the company’s meat merchandising plan and trimming /preparing standard cuts of meat. The Meat Manager is responsible for training associates, ordering product, monthly inventory, maximizing gross profits, and upholding cleanliness standards.
Responsibilities- Use knives and power equipment to cut and/or package authorized beef, pork, and poultry items according to policies and procedures.
- Prepare and place meat cuts and products in the display counter according to procedures so they appear attractive and appealing to customers.
- Order product based on customer wants and needs; review bills for proper billing.
- Receive, inspect, and store meat upon delivery, maintaining the cold chain and ensuring meat quality.
- Ensure sanitation and quality standards are met daily, as per policy.
- Maintain accurate monthly inventory counts and maximize gross profit.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Experience safely using manual pallet jacks, hand tools, and power equipment, including knives, wrappers, scales, slicers, cubing machine, and power saw (preferred).
- Experience with ordering, rotation, training, and monthly inventory (preferred).
- Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs.
