The Coach Sales Associate plays a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales while upholding the brand’s service and selling standards.
Sales Associate RoleResponsible for creating a positive first impression, building long‑term customer relationships, and consistently achieving personal and store sales targets. The role requires a blend of customer focus, product knowledge, and operational excellence.
Sales Floor- Understand organizational objectives and align decisions with company priorities.
- Take ownership of personal metrics; create personal sales and clienteling strategies with management.
- Develop short‑ and long‑term strategies to achieve performance goals.
- Own survey results; create plans to improve and overcome gaps.
- Represent Coach as a brand ambassador.
- Demonstrate Coach’s selling and service expectations at all times.
- Stay aware of local market changes and support execution of local sales strategies.
- Drive business through sales strategies, clienteling, and sourcing new customers.
- Build credibility and trust as a personal fashion advisor.
- Provide in‑depth product knowledge, including features, benefits, and current offerings.
- Communicate current pricing and promotional strategy to customers.
- Build the sale by leveraging cross‑selling skills.
- Cross‑sell and encourage beneficial add‑ons that meet the customer’s needs.
- Read cues to tailor the approach; attend to unique shopping needs.
- Work with multiple customers simultaneously and break away as appropriate.
- Follow up consistently and genuinely to influence or close the sale.
- Flex personal selling techniques to contribute to store financial results.
- Build lasting loyalty relationships and leverage Coach’s tools and technology for clienteling.
- Create enthusiasm and positivity for a shared vision and mission.
- Promote and endorse a team‑selling environment and foster teamwork, trust, and collaboration.
- Remain solution‑oriented, adaptable, and flexible to changing business and store needs.
- Welcome feedback and adapt behaviors as appropriate.
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times.
- Ensure all daily tasks are completed without negatively impacting service or Coach standards.
- Complete daily operational tasks, including maintaining store, cash wrap, and visual merchandising to Coach standards consistently and in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and tidy selling floor at all times.
- Adhere to all retail policies and procedures, including POS, operations, and asset protection.
- Replenish inventory on the sales floor as needed.
- Support the store inventory process by processing shipments, stocking shelves, and maintaining strong organizational standards in the stockroom.
- Support cash‑wrap when needed to process purchases, returns, and exchanges.
- Efficiently process customer transactions: purchase, return, exchange, found order, etc.
- Effectively help prepare store by organizing functional areas, performing routine cleaning, and maintaining visual merchandising expectations.
