Overview

The Home Depot is hiring for a Cashier. This role focuses on delivering fast, friendly, accurate and safe service to customers, processing Checkout and/or Return transactions, and monitoring the Self-Checkout area. Cashiers seek product knowledge to provide information and identify selling opportunities, while following policies and procedures to minimize shrink. A Head Cashier may position Cashiers and support them by expediting price checks, approving POS transactions and markdowns for various registers.

They provide first level escalation for customer issues and assist in supervision, coaching and training of other Front End Associates.

• Provide fast, friendly, accurate and safe service to customers at the checkout and, when needed, assist in the Self-Checkout area.
• Process Checkout and/or Return transactions; monitor the Self-Checkout area; proactively seek product knowledge to inform customers and identify selling opportunities.
• Follow all policies and procedures to minimize shrink; assist with price checks, approvals for Point of Sale transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental as applicable.
• Assist in supervision, coaching and training of other Front End Associates; participate in training of new Cashiers and use available tools to coach and develop others.

• Preferred qualification: 1+ years of cashier experience.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Base pay range: $16.50/hr - $17.50/hr
