Part-Time Registered Nurse

Reports To:

Building Principal and/or Director of Student Personnel Services Job Goal(s):

To assist the school nurse in the smooth and efficient operation of the school's health services in order to realize a positive impact on students and the educational environment.

Qualifications:

* License to work as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey

* New Jersey Substitute Teacher Certificate or willingness to obtain one.

* Demonstrated aptitude for the tasks involved

* Such alternatives to the above as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable

Performance Responsibilities:

* Under the direction of the School Nurse, the Registered Nurse will:

* Provide temporary care of a student or staff member suffering from an injury or illness.

* Administer prescribed medication to student(s) as specified in approved Board policy.

* Maintain a complete, up-to-date health record for student(s) in his/her care.

* Utilize community health resources when necessary.

* Assist in adapting the school environment to accommodate the needs of medically limited students.

* Provide lunch and sub coverage for district Certified School Nurses, as needed.

* Assist School Nurses with required health screenings.

* Participate in professional growth activities related to the improvement of knowledge and skills.

* Perform other nursing/health related duties as may be required.

* This position will work in various locations across the district.

Salary:

Position is associated with the terms and conditions of the negotiated Agreement with the Paramus Board of Education

Hourly Rate: $47.05
