Position: REGISTERED NURSE RADIOLOGY AND DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING FULL-TIME DAY SHIFT 25219

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients and establish intravenous access for administration of contrast, medications and intravenous fluids.
  • Deliver intravenous contrast or other IV medications including IV sedation per radiologist order.
  • Continuously monitor patient vital signs and patterns during procedures and while in recovery.
  • Conduct initial patient assessments, prepare patients for procedures, and perform post-procedure monitoring to watch for complications like bleeding or changes in vital signs.
  • Provide pre-procedure instructions, collect medication history, review lab results, and provide intake and assess patients during preoperative phase.
  • Initiate care and discharge plan for patients after invasive procedures.
  • Provide pre-procedure and follow-up phone calls for patients after invasive procedures.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with physicians, technologists, and other staff to provide safe and effective care.
  • Coordinate care between the radiology department and other healthcare units.
  • Assist in scheduling Interventional Procedures and CTA Coronary exams.
  • Participate actively in the Performance Improvement process to evaluate the quality of nursing care delivered to patients.
  • Participate in in-services and staff training programs as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness of rooms, adequate stock of supplies, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
Other Duties
  • Orient patients and family to the new environment and develop rapport with the patient’s family.
  • Assist in data collection and analysis of Quality Assurance / CQI monitors; participate in implementation of follow-up actions.
  • Effectively utilize the hospital computer system as it pertains to job responsibilities and in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Participate actively on Quality Improvement committees as assigned.
  • Assist other personnel as needed.
  • Keep up-to-date with current trends pertinent to area of assignment.
  • Participate in continuing education activities; attend mandatory scheduled in-service programs; share information gained at conferences with colleagues.
  • Respond to hospital codes (Code 9, Code Blue, Nurse Control, etc., as assigned).
Position Qualifications
  • Current NJ licensure as RN required.
  • BLS & IV certification required.
  • ACLS required.
  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience required.
  • CRN preferred.
  • One year radiology nursing care experience preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.
Education
  • Graduation from accredited school of Nursing required.
  • BSN preferred.
Job Setting / Physical Demand
  • All patient care areas.
  • Frequently prolonged standing/walking.
  • Lifts, positions, pushes, and/or transfers patients.
  • Protective clothing worn: face shield, gloves, impermeable gown.

Salary commensurate with experience within posted range.
