• Assemble prepared food on trays for general and therapeutic diets; prepare special therapeutic nourishments and snacks (e.g., slice fruits, mix pre-packaged liquid nourishments).
• Maintain tray line in a clean, neat and orderly manner.
• Deliver food trucks to patient floors as specified; return trucks to dishroom at designated times.
• Tend and load dish machines in patient and employee dishrooms; may wash certain items, such as pots and pans, by hand.
• Deliver clean dishes and utensils to proper kitchen unit.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, walk-in storage areas, refrigerators. Clean and sanitize equipment, disassemble and reassemble as required; mop floors and perform special cleaning duties assigned by supervisor.
• Transport food and supplies in bulk from location to location.
• Collect, process and dispose of trash and garbage as needed and directed.
• Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
• Customer Service: respect, flexibility, knowledge, confidence, professionalism, pleasant attitude, patience and helpfulness. All responses should be timely, professional, caring, and respectful in accordance with Customer Service Performance expectations. Understand and adhere to the Medical Center’s Code of Conduct. Familiar with the Medical Center’s Mission, Vision, and Values Statements.

• May serve food in a variety of settings such as patient rooms, patient dining rooms, cafeteria, catered functions.
• As required, maintain simple tallies and logs (e.g., time of delivery, food temperatures on delivery).
• Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education: 2 years of High School preferred.

Experience: 6 months previous food service experience preferred.

Skills: Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.

Patient floors, cafeteria, kitchens. Exposed to heat, wetness, odors in kitchen and/or patient areas. Exposed to varying degrees of kitchen elements such as steam, electricity, sharp knives and cutting equipment. Moderate physical effort lifting light to heavy objects and pushing carts. Frequent prolonged standing/walking.

Salary commensurate with experience within posted range. $17.51 PER HR Differentials: $1.00 EVE NIGHT & WEEKEND
