As a Solution Architect you'll be a pivotal team member who connects the client's technical, functional and implementation requirements with a solution design and proposal. You'll work closely with clients and sellers to build solutions that meet the client's business outcomes and follow best practices for the technology and industry. In this fast‑paced role you will design and construct a work‑breakdown structure leading to a rough order of magnitude, price and statement of work.
A successful Solution Architect demonstrates a natural bias toward self‑motivation and uses data and people to find answers and present solutions that ensure world‑class delivery. End‑to‑End Technical Guidance:
Provide expert end‑to‑end technical guidance to lead discovery discussions with prospective clients, assess architecture needs for projects and work with technical leads and sellers to create proposals. Finding the Best Architectural Outcomes:
Lead client workshops; influence client stakeholders at all levels to find the best architectural outcomes that align with business and technology strategies and initiatives, translating them into actionable roadmaps with clear direction on execution to ensure business value and ROI. Maintaining Solution Review Boards:
Develop and contribute to the solution review boards for proposals, providing oversight for technology assurance, quality and risk evaluation. Building Successful Relationships:
Establish and maintain personal relationships at all levels—from engineers to CIOs—while navigating challenging debates to reach healthy resolutions. This role can be worked from anywhere in the US.
Master's Degree
Required Technical And Professional Expertise- Minimum 15 years of experience working with customers in a pre‑sales or post‑sales technical role
- Minimum 5 years of people management experience; experience mentoring, coaching and developing teams
- Minimum 5 years of experience in selling professional services; scoping large projects, writing statements of work
- A strong track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets in highly competitive markets
- A familiarity with solution‑based approach to selling, experience managing a complex sales process and possessing excellent presentation and listening skills, organization and contact management capabilities
- Proven ability to independently manage, develop and close new client relationships
- In‑depth knowledge of Data Engineering, Data Lakehouse, Ingestion and Transformation technologies, with proven expertise in driving successful sales initiatives within these domains
- Strong ability to work across cross‑functional teams including Sales Engineering and Professional Services
- Extensive expertise in Snowflake and/or Databricks data platforms
- Specialized knowledge of and experience with major cloud platforms and its popular data services (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with large‑scale legacy database technologies (e.g. Oracle, Teradata, Netezza, Greenplum, etc.)
- Experience with non‑relational platforms and tools for large‑scale data processing (e.g. Hadoop, HBase)
- Understanding of complete data analytics stack and workflow, from ETL to data platform design to BI and analytics tools
- Experience and track record of success selling data and/or analytics solutions to enterprise customers; includes proven skills identifying key stakeholders, winning value propositions, and compelling events
- Experience responding to RFPs highly desirable.
- Hands‑on expertise with IBM cloud offerings.
