Genetic Counselor, Center Child Development Part Time

Position Summary

The genetics counselor is responsible to provide genetic counseling for sporadic, familial and hereditary forms of cancer and cardiac disease to both patients and families. The counselor will also perform a cancer risk assessment. The Counselor will assist the participants with strategies to cope with the risk information they receive. This position will also support the development of research, and development of a genetic registry database.

Master's Degree in Genetic Counseling from an American Board of Genetics Counseling (ABGC) accredited institution. Must hold a valid, current license as a genetic counselor in the state of NJ

At least 2 years clinical experience in genetic counseling with one year oncology specific cancer genetics.

American Board of Genetics Certification preferred Current BLS. Computer Skills Word, Excel, PowerPoint Meditech and Athena Special Skills/licensure/certification:
Good written and oral communication skills.
