Certified Medical Assistant – VP Cardiology Position Summary
Under the direction of the physician, Charge RN or Manager performs direct clinical activities in a courteous, caring and respectful manner. Responsibilities include patient intake, blood draw, pharmacy calls, EKG and any tests required by the physician. Must accurately document in an EMR system in accordance with licensure and VMG policy and procedures. Maintains close working relationships with all practice staff to ensure proper workflow, care and treatment.
EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent and completion of a formal Medical Assistant program recognized by the State of New Jersey.
ExperiencePrevious MA experience in a clinic, physician’s office or outpatient setting preferred. Certification required.
Special Skills- Current and valid certification as a certified medical assistant or registered medical assistant recognized by the Board of Examiners such as AMT, AAMA, NCCT.
- BCLS certification preferred upon hire.
- Understanding of the operations of a medical practice.
- Strong orientation toward high‑quality, cost‑effective, comprehensive medical care.
- Effective organizational and time‑management skills.
- Strong communication skills—oral, written, and presentation.
- Ability to work within a high‑functioning team and foster cooperative relationships with staff and management.
- Courteous, caring, respectful, and compassionate behavior at all times.
- Ability to act with confidentiality and integrity.
- Commitment to job duties and accountability.
- Support of company‑wide efforts to improve patient satisfaction.
- Willingness to rotate to other VMG locations as needed.
