Maintenance Director

The Maintenance Director is responsible for the ongoing preventative maintenance of the facility building, equipment and grounds and for troubleshooting maintenance problems when they arise. The role ensures that maintenance services are available for emergency needs that may arise outside of regular working hours, performs most tasks independently and utilizes properly licensed vendors approved by administration for assistance when needed, and assists residents with moving and minor repairs.

• Practices good safety awareness and follows safety procedures, including infection control measures where applicable.
• Is self‑supervising and self‑motivating, able to set priorities and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates a positive, courteous and respectful attitude toward residents, families, staff and visitors.

• Prior experience in building maintenance.
• Prior experience in managing a team.
• Must possess knowledge of the following fields:
  • Plumbing (design/mechanics of commodes, plumbing fixtures, drains, discharge lines, hot water heaters, dishwashers, ice machines, etc.)
  • HVAC (general principles of HVAC and heat pump operation/mechanics, and refrigeration).
  • Electricity (wiring, voltage, amperage).
  • Mechanics (design/operation of engines).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with no major violations.
