Job SummaryThe Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for processing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the accounting department with day-to-day operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely collections and maintaining positive relationships with internal departments and external customers.
Key Responsibilities- Process and post customer payments accurately and timely
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare daily bank deposits and maintain deposit records
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
- Assist with month-end closing procedures
- Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding payment issues
- Maintain organized and up-to-date files and documentation
- Previous experience in accounts receivable, preferably in the automotive industry
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and dealership management systems (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional accounting coursework is a plus
