About Our Property:
Mountain Shadows Resort, Scottsdale, AZ, with 217 guest rooms and 7,500 sq ft of meeting space in 11 rooms. What you will have an opportunity to do: The Cook III is responsible for general preparation and serving of assigned hot menu items, and maintaining a clean and organized workstation. Aesthetic attention to color and detail is important for appealing presentation as well as taste.
Responsibilities- Assist in preparing items in the assigned area following designated recipes and production sheets. Must be able to work long hours standing, in extreme heat, and on slippery surfaces; work well under pressure.
- Assist in breaking down and cleaning the station at the end of a meal and shift. Prevent waste through proper preparation and storage of food.
- Maintain high levels of sanitation, organization, and cleanliness. Comply with Maricopa County Health Dept. regulations on the assigned station at all times (e.g., approved drink containers, sanitizer use, refrigerator temperatures).
- Use and care for equipment provided by Mountain Shadows.
- Follow Mountain Shadows guidelines and procedures; project a positive attitude and teamwork; respect others’ priorities.
- Perform any job-related task as directed by the supervisor.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to demonstrate the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Basic kitchen experience. Ability to handle knives, mixers, and other common kitchen equipment.
- Willingness to learn, ability to follow directions and develop skills.
- Ability to work well with people under pressure.
- Ability to work quickly and safely.
- Adhere to occupational safety and health practices, including wearing personal protective equipment when required.
- Must possess a Certified Food Handlers card, registered with Maricopa County, to be kept on file.
- White, double-breasted chef s jacket provided by the company.
- Sturdy, polished black shoes.
