Transportation Broker Job Papillion area,Nebraska USA,Transportation

This position is responsible for the arrangement of authorized third-party motor carriers to transport freight from pickup to delivery, or to other transfer locations. With multiple partner companies, the freight broker position also educates current and potential customers on services that will best meet their needs.

Job Duties

Perform freight services according to company and government regulations.

Plan and coordinate pick-up and delivery schedules.

Work with Shippers, Carriers and Dispatchers to manage schedules.

Resolve freight discrepancies in a timely manner.

Identify and contact qualified carriers for freight services.

Maintain positive and productive relationship with customers and coworkers. This includes responding to questions and concerns professionally and timely.

Understand the needs of each customer and offer services that are best suited to their goals.

Identify and maintain strong relationships with multiple qualified carriers for freight services.

Assist in negotiating contract and pricing agreements with carriers and customers.

Maintain strong relationship with multiple carriers.

Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information.

Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge and skills.

Maintaining expert knowledge of products and services.

Serve as primary back-up for the other Freight Brokers in the office.

Use customer contact activities tools, and systems, and update relevant information held in these systems. This includes maintain freight files and customer receipts for reference purposes.

Some off hours work is required ad-hoc when an issue arises.
