Commissioning Owner's Representative Project Manager - Apex Systems (Omaha, NE)

Overview

Apex Systems is seeking a Commissioning Owner's Representative Project Manager to support data center construction programs in Omaha, Nebraska. This role oversees commissioning activities, vendor coordination, design review, quality, schedule, and handover of mission-critical infrastructure. The PM acts as the owner's proxy to ensure technical, safety, and operational standards are met from design through turnover.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end commissioning oversight for data center construction projects.
  • Manage design reviews, construction progress, equipment startup, and commissioning workflows.
  • Coordinate vendors, contractors, and commissioning agents to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Oversee electrical, mechanical, controls, fire safety, and security system validation.
  • Maintain schedule, track risks, and ensure all commissioning milestones are achieved.
  • Support FAT/SAT activities, quality inspections, and readiness checklists.
  • Provide owner-level governance across documentation, handover, and operations integration.
  • Communicate progress clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years experience in data center or mission-critical project management.
  • Experience with electrical, mechanical, controls, fire safety, and data center infrastructure.
  • Understanding of startup/commissioning processes.
  • Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering and construction teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with design-build delivery models and vendor management.
  • Familiarity with fast-track construction environments.
  • Strong skills in requirements gathering, scheduling, task prioritization, and risk management.
  • Experience managing commissioning deliverables across multiple trades and systems.
