Overview
GENERAL PURPOSE Performs clerical, technical, and customer service work to support the daily operations of the Assessor’s office. With regular attendance, this position maintains data, assists the public and internal staff, and processes records.

Essential Duties- Accurately record and maintain changes to real estate property characteristics.
- Process real estate transfer documents.
- Receive and review sketches of various property types from materials provided by appraisal staff; create digital drawings using department-specific software programs.
- Respond to inquiries from staff and the public.
- Provide assistance to Homestead Exemption inquiries and process documents.
- Assist appraisers with documentation for annual property valuation protest.
- Update data to adjust property information to reflect decisions and/or information received from meetings with taxpayers, board actions, hearings, and/or appeals.
- Maintain and organize plat maps, records, files, and documentation to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with records retention requirements.
- Research issues related to deeds and documents.
- Provide assistance with Personal Property filings.
- Review and check materials for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with departmental policies, regulations, and laws.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- 2 years of experience in an administrative or clerical role.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse individuals.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite and other software related to data management, communication, and other common business processes.
- Ability to follow established policies and procedures for confidentiality while adapting to evolving privacy standards and technologies.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships within a team.
- Ability to learn, understand, and effectively use computer-assisted programs and drawing or sketching software to accurately process and maintain records.
- Knowledge of basic clerical and administrative practices, including data entry, records management, and document processing.
- Skilled in reviewing, organizing, and processing real estate and assessment-related documents.
- Knowledge of office procedures, customer service standards, and public records requirements.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite and other software related to data management, communication, and other common business processes.
- Ability to follow established policies and procedures for confidentiality while adapting to evolving privacy standards and technologies.

The work environment is typically a professional office setting, involving regular use of computers, standard office equipment, and frequent interaction with both internal staff and the public in a structured, task-oriented atmosphere.
