Principal / Dean – School of Architecture and Design    Pillai University, Navi Mumbai
Pillai University  invites applications from accomplished academic leaders for the position of  Principal / Dean – School of Architecture and Design , in accordance with  Council of Architecture (COA) regulations . This is a senior leadership role for a visionary architect-educator committed to excellence in architectural education, design innovation, and institutional growth.

Key Responsibilities   Provide  academic, administrative, and strategic leadership  to the School of Architecture and Design in full compliance with  COA norms and university regulations .
Ensure effective  planning, delivery, and continuous improvement  of the

B.Arch and allied design programs.
Lead  curriculum development  aligned with contemporary architectural practice, sustainability, technology, and interdisciplinary design.
Oversee  faculty recruitment, development, mentoring, and appraisal  as per COA and university guidelines.
Ensure preparedness for  COA inspections, accreditations, and statutory compliance .
Foster a strong  studio culture , research environment, and professional ethics.
Build and strengthen  industry, professional, and academic collaborations .
Promote  research, consultancy, publications, competitions, and outreach activities .
Guide  student admissions, academic performance, discipline, and overall welfare .
Represent the School and University in  professional bodies, academic forums, and regulatory engagements .
Eligibility Criteria (As per COA Norms)    Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (B.Arch)  recognized by the Council of Architecture.
Master’s Degree in Architecture or allied discipline  from a recognized university.
Minimum 15 years of experience  in teaching and/or professional practice, including:
At least  5 years as Professor  in a COA-approved institution (or as prescribed by current COA regulations).
Valid registration with the Council of Architecture .
Proven experience in  academic administration and leadership .
Desirable Qualifications & Attributes   PhD in Architecture or allied discipline.
Demonstrated leadership in  academic planning, institutional development, and accreditation processes .
Exposure to  NAAC/NIRF/COA inspections  and quality assurance systems.
Vision for  future-ready architectural education , including sustainability, digital tools, urban studies, and design research.
Strong communication, governance, and stakeholder engagement skills.
