Veterinary Assistant

Overview

Description: Our hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to help provide outstanding patient care and client service in a fast-paced, multi-doctor animal hospital.

Department: General Practice Hospitals

Location: Parkway Animal Hospital

• Assist Veterinarians in the care of animals
• Help during initial examinations by restraining animals when necessary
• Stock examination and surgery rooms with supplies
• Sterilize tools and ensure that equipment is in working order
• Communicate with clients (pet owners) and update patient files

The Veterinary Assistant is responsible for providing professional, dependable, and effective communication, and for multi-tasking in a busy clinical setting. The next team member will be an energetic people-and-pet person with excellent work ethic and strong social and organizational skills. Must be willing to work flexible hours and some weekends.

• Prior experience preferred
• Regular on-site presence is an essential function of the role; in-person attendance supports patient care, time-sensitive needs, collaboration with clinical teams, and safety of patients, clients, and staff

• Prior Customer Service Experience
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
